I chose this university after a careful evaluation of various factors. I find that this university is well-established and it is respected in academic as well as industry circles. Its degrees hold value and students who learn here receive methodical and thorough training. Knowledge is imparted in small bytes and students undergo tests as well as hand in assignments on a regular basis. The faculty is admired and I understand they pay full attention to each student to ensure proper assimilation of knowledge. Students can access library facility and also undertake research in addition to practical projects. I may also get a chance to do internship through placements by the university.

There is much I will learn here and return to India a much improved individual in different ways.

My Past Experience

While in college I interned at Cognizant and worked on CyberPark PAM administration and installation. They liked my work and when I graduated I was offered a job which I took up, working as programmer analyst here since August 2021. I use CyberArk as the tool to provide security and to monitor activity of all privileged accounts in the project. I am a CyberArk administrator and have the responsibility of managing Privileged Access Management.

Classes/projects that I undertook

I realized early on that college learning is not enough and, therefore, took in private courses in Python for Everybody from Coursera and Java in Depth from Udemy.

Projects are essential for students. I did my share. My first one was Database Front-End and Back-end Connectivity using HTML5 to create a website and SQL to enter data. I also used PHP to write code to manage databases.

My main project for the final semester was Air Board in which I used OpenCV library file to track an object of interest to generate a virtual white board.

My Leadership/community experience

I have been active in other areas since my childhood days. I like theatre and drama and social events. It was only natural that I become a member of the college’s organizing team and assist in the ACM’s program of a cultural festival on the campus. I have done my fair share of community work during the Covid wave and it did add another thought dimension, opening up a world of service to people in crying need of assistance.

Values I bring to the institution

I am ambitious and I am also methodical and practical. I would like to go to great lengths to acquire the tag of capability. My decision to study here is a part of my goal to become good at whatever I do. I hope to do quite well at the university and then, in the future, repay it for the education I will receive here.

My Career goals and how this course will help

On my return to India I will find it easy to get into multinationals like Cognizant, Accenture or Google and work my way up from a junior level position to that of a team leader in two years. Thereafter, in five years I should become systems engineer or systems architect and become head of a department. I will forever be in this university’s debt for getting me started on a successful career path.
